My name is Richard Lin. I own a small paint correction repair shop located in Southern California and manufacture a number of well known detailing products known as BlackWow as well as distribute coatings for CS-II USA. You can read about my shop on Yelp or DemandForce.
Detailing cars began with a real need to maintain my dream car, although I used to be the typical car owner who hated washing much less even waxing my cars. It was a painful and slow process and the results were never guaranteed. That was until I met Mike Phillips who became my business partner and mentor back in the early 2000’s.

It all began with a MINI Cooper and discovering I was actually a “Born Again Car Nut”. Due to the huge demand of this car as it was introduced into the US in 2002, instead of being on waiting lists and paying high markups, I opted to purchase my dream car from another state and drive it back home. This road trip was incredible but after driving over 5,000 miles, it was in serious need of some TLC. That’s when I met Mike Phillips who worked for Meguiar’s at the time, and he showed me how much fun detailing could be when done right at one of his garage clinics. At the time, I wasn’t a detailer, but rather a videographer, but I was bit hard by the bug, and soon enough, I was teaching classes from my home, teaching other MINI Cooper enthusiasts how to care for their rides using Meguiar’s products. Eventually Meguiar’s would see my results and actually began supporting me with these clinics.
